The cottontail is the rabbit most hunters chase, but swamp rabbits, snowshoe hares and jackrabbits all offer good hunting.
Cottontails
Cottontails live on farm land across much of the country and hold up well under hunting pressure.
Swamp rabbits
The largest cottontail, found in the bottomlands of the South, and a favorite for beagle packs.
Hares
Snowshoe hares live in northern forests and turn white in winter. Jackrabbits are hares of open western country.
