Season dates

Some states open small game seasons in early fall. Wyoming, for example, opens on September 1. Oklahoma’s rabbit season has run into mid-March.

Tularemia

Tularemia, or rabbit fever, can be present any time of year. Wildlife agencies advise wearing rubber gloves when handling game and cooking meat thoroughly.

Licenses

A small game license usually covers rabbits. Check bag limits and any special rules for hares.

Dates and limits change every year. Always check the current regulations.
